Melanie Kim Tarkington

Melanie Kim Elkins Tarkington, 48, of Vidor, left this world for her heavenly home July 18, 2015 after an illness. Melanie lived in the Beaumont and Vidor area all of her life. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Vidor. She had many friends and lots of family that loved her and will miss her.

Melanie is survived by her mother, Lexie Tarkington of Vidor, her father, Larry Tarkington of Nederland, her father and stepmother, Larry and Debbie Elkins of China; brother, James David Gault, who now joins her in her heavenly home; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Cheryl Nichols of Beaumont; brother, Tommy Earl Hyde of Hurst, TX; sister, Debbie Beckham of Louisiana; nephews, Blaine Gault, Ricky “little Ricky” Nichols and Slade Nichols; special cousins and best friends, Kelly Doucett and Dana LeBlanc Harrod of Beaumont and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service is scheduled for  3:00 p.m. Saturday August 1, 2015 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Don Plott.
