This is truly such a great loss! Mel was my favorite cousin, my BFF, and my partner in crime. We were in separable growing up and our young adulthood. I got married and we both got busy and led separate lives. GOD is so good because he brought us back together this past year and 1/2. It was as if we were never apart. We picked up right where we left off. We enjoyed each other so much. We would talk for hours about the past and All The Fun AND all Trouble we got into. This has put such a void in my heart without her here. I do find comfort that she is no longer in pain but I was hoping that we would have had so much more time together. Cousin Mel was so young to leave this world but I know exactly where she is. All I have to do is look up and tell her how much I love her and how lost I am without her!!! She may have seemed a little tough sometimes but she was the most giving person I ever knew. Melanie loved all kids ESPECIALLY all her nephews!!! She will be truly missed by me and many others. Melanie knew her Bible from front to back. Her favorite verse was John 3:16. I will see you again one day Cuz and what a happy reunion that will be.....love you always from your cousin Kel.

I remember spending part of the Summer together and I thought you were the coolest cousin. You and Aunt Lexie had come to stay with Aunt Doris when she lived next to us in Warren, we hung out for several weeks and I remember you letting me drive your little red sports car everywhere. It was a summer to remember and although we lost touch after that I will always remember the fun we had. Such an age difference but it didn't seem to bother you. Love you and rest in peace.
