Mary Cathryn Deem

Mary Cathryn Deem, 68 of Beaumont, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016. Mary was a native of Beaumont, was a very devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.  As a young woman, Mary was well known for her work in radio as a local disc jockey.  After raising three sons, she devoted her life to helping and caring for others.  Her smile and kind words of encouragement were free to all, and she would give anything she had to help others.  Mary was a true prayer warrior and worshipper of Jesus, with whom she is now spending her time eternally.

She is preceded in death by her father, Milton Andrus, Sr. and Jessie Keith Andrus.

Mary is survived by her three loving sons, Daniel Deem of Beaumont, Nathanael Deem of Beaumont and Samuel Deem and wife Martha of Nederland; brother, Milton Keith Andrus, Jr., grandchildren, Breanna Watson, Zoe Deem, Morgann Deem, Phillip Deem, and Myah Deem and numerous cousins and other family members.

The family will receive friends at Grace Church in Lumberton from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Grace Church of Lumberton, officiated by Reverend Ray McNames. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont.

At Mary’s request, those attending the funeral service may honor her by wearing a flower of their choice.
