Glenn Edward "Bear" Reeves

Glenn Edward “Bear” Reeves, 73, of Vidor, passed away Saturday April 30, 2016. Glenn was a loving husband, dad, pawpaw, and great grandpa.  He was a native of Silsbee but has lived in Vidor for the past several years to be near his family. He retired from Forest Products in 2007 but has worked in his younger years for Kirby Lumber Company in Silsbee, TX  and Orange Shipbuilding, Orange, TX.   He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing. His passion was football, he especially loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos.  The one thing, he was most proud of, were his 4 grandkids and great grandson, they were the joys and blessings of his life.  He loved meeting new people and if you ever met Glenn, you had a friend for life.  He just loved making people laugh and those that were blessed, to ever know him, were made better for it.  On Saturday April 30, 2016, this earth lost a very sweet, caring soul when God called Glenn home.  There will forever be a void in our hearts that only he could fill.

He is preceded in death by his wife Bertie Reeves; father, William Omer Reeves; mother Ida McKee and brother, Eugene Reeves.

Glenn is survived by his loving children, Glenda Reeves of Vidor and Pamela Ricks and husband, Brent of Vidor; sister, Oma Lee Fore of Hull Daisetta; half-brothers, Preston McKee and wife, Gayle of Silsbee, David Reeves of North Carolina, Gerald Reeves and wife, Brenda of Humble; half-sisters, Sandra Mitchell of Nederland, Linda Reeves of Colorado and Brenda Reeves of Colorado; grandchildren, Dylan McFarlin of Vidor, Shayla Ricks of Vidor, Mason McFarlin of Vidor and Austin Ricks of Vidor, and great-grandson, Chance McFarlin of Vidor.

His family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home on Tuesday May 3, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. May 4, 2016 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Preston McKee and Pastor Elmer Eddings. Interment will follow at R. S. Famer Cemetery in Silsbee.

Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Wheeler, Kenny Reeves, Tony Reeves, Dylan McFarlin, Mason McFarlin, Austin Ricks and Shayla Ricks.
