Gerald was a really nice man.  I remember him sitting in his recliner in the living room.  You could always go and sit beside him and talk, or just sit there quietly with him.  I remember him working out in the shed.  I have missed him, and the whole family over the last few years.  My deepest sympathy.  My prayers are with the whole family.

So sorry for your lost. I am Edgar Barefield's granddaughter, my mom is Patsy Barefield. I don't remember ya'll since you were so much older than me. My husband has a hunting lease up in Roganville and we see James place when we go up there and want to stop and introduce myself but didn't know if he would welcome me since we really don't know each other. I wanted to come to visitaion but didn't know about it in time and can't come to the service because I keep my 2yr old and 5 month old twins everyday. My thoughts and prayers are with you and maybe some day we can meet ya'll. I live in Vidor # 409-679-4447.

We are so sad for your loss.  We know family will be close to you at this time but it is hard to lose a lifelong friend.  We thank the Lord for his life and may his legacy of love and fun be passed down.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss.  As I read through your father/grandfather's obituary, it made me wish I had had the opportunity to know him. It seems he lived a full, adventurous and interesting life.  May the memories of the unique and special person God made him, bring comfort and peace to your hearts. - Pastor Dave and Sandy
