Clarence Marcantel, Jr.

Clarence Marcantel, Jr. 87, of Lumberton, formerly of Kirbyville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday December 2, 2016. He was born in Kinder, LA October 4, 1929 to his parents, Clarence, Sr. and Addie Marcantel. He married the love of his life, Bonnie, May 29, 1948. Clarence had a green thumb and he had a special talent for getting things to grow. He was a self-taught mechanic and was always fixing cars. He was a member of Abundant Life Church of Beaumont. He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked as an iron worker and welder and was a member of Ironworkers Locals #84 and #623.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Marcantel, and James Marcantel; and grandson, Scott Van Huss.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Bonnie Andrews Marcantel of Lumberton, TX; children, Dianne Van Huss and husband, James of Newton, TX, Edwin “Buck” Marcantel and wife, Cynthia of Lumberton, TX, and Pat Dickens and husband, Robert of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Alicia Dickens of DeRidder, LA, Kimberly Brannon and husband, Tim of DeRidder, LA, and Chris Van Huss and wife, Bonnie of Newton, TX; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday December 5, 2016 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend James Pound and Reverend Russell Hennigan.
