Alva "Gene" Jiminez

Alva “Gene” Jiminez, 80, of Beaumont, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015. He proudly served his country and retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling and watching football, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns were his favorite teams. He was a wonderful husband and he loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Bernadette Jiminez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Rose Jiminez of Beaumont; daughters, Gina Garrison and husband David of Spring, Linda Stuart of Beaumont; sons, Earl Clifton, Jr. of Hemphill, Alan Dale Gibson of Beaumont, Ronald Lee Gibson of Beaumont; brother, Floyd Jiminez and wife Dottie of Fort Worth; grandson, Doug Fincher and wife Rachel of Bridge City; great grandsons, Landon Fincher and Reid Fincher.

His family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at Lumberton Family Funeral Home Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Reverend James Pound. Interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Newton, Waylon Kelley, Doug Fincher and Patrick Jones.
