William "Bill" Romero Obituary

William Louis Romero, age 75, of Vidor, TX passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023.  He was born in Beaumont, TX on September 24, 1947, to Louis G. Romero, Jr. and Era Theresa Martin Romero.

Affectionate and devoted, he was protective of those that he loved and passionate about the things that he believed. Bill liked to laugh; he liked to bring a smile and have a good time. After serving honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, he married the love of his life, Sharon Martin, and they journeyed through life hand in hand. The Lord blessed them with a daughter, Holly, and later a grandson, Noah. Bill loved playing basketball and co-ed softball in his younger adult life. His love of staying active progressed to camping and fishing with his wife and daughter, golfing and riding motorcycles with his brother, brother-in-law, and a host of close friends. Bill was a kindhearted, hardworking man that loved his family beyond measure. All of God’s creatures mattered to him and would find shelter in his heart: racoons, dogs, cats, etc. When the weather was nice and warm, he loved nothing better than to sit on the patio, often with Sharon, drinking his coffee and enjoying the birds. Though he is gone, Bill’s character, love for his family, and dedicated nature will be cherished by his loved ones.

Left to honor his memory is his beloved wife, Sharon Martin Romero; daughter, Holly Carey; brother, Fred Romero and wife, Jackie; sister, Betty Ioannoglou, and Minas; grandson, Noah Carey; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Bill in death are his parents and stepdaughter, Cindy Ramsey.

Visitation with family and friends will be Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Vidor, 350 N Main St. Vidor, TX 77662. William’s life honoring memorial service will follow at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, with Pastor Terry Wright officiating.
