William Morrison Obituary

William “Bill” Pierce Morrison, age 83, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025. He was born on September 1, 1941, in Hornbeck, LA, to Oscar Clifton and Ellen Carroll Morrison.

Bill was a simple man; he lived fast and loved deeply. His moniker 'Wild Bill' truly encapsulated his passion for life and his unyielding spirit. Born into a life demanding courage and compassion, he faced adversity from a young age. At just 10 years old, he endured the untimely passing of his father. Alongside his big brother Oscar, he helped shoulder the responsibility of supporting his mother and siblings, leaving school to help provide for his loved ones. This early sacrifice shaped a life dedicated to hard work, generosity, and unwavering commitment. On October 5, 1964, Bill married the love of his life, Glenda, the sister of his good friend. He began to notice that she was growing into a beautiful young lady. She would always ask for a ride in his car, and when she was old enough, Bill took her for that ride. Together, they built a life filled with love, raising children and grandchildren who were Bill's pride and joy. He often reminded his family, “Don’t do as I do, do as I say.” Bill’s hands were never idle, always tinkering and finding things to do. A master of many trades, he was the go-to source of advice for his family, a walking how-to guide for those in need. Bill and Glenda shared a love for fishing, spending many peaceful days by the lake. His musical talent shone early as he learned to play the drums by ear, performing with Bobby Lott and the Red Hots and sharing his gift throughout his life. A faithful friend and a devoted family man, Bill was always there to lend a hand, brighten a spirit, or simply say when he wanted to go riding around, “I’m going visiting.” Though Bill has gone for his final ride, reunited with his beloved Glenda, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched with his unshakable character and boundless love.

Left to honor his memory are his children, Allen “Buckethead” Dwayne Morrison and wife, Norma, and Terri Shalee Grossman and husband, Clayton; sister, Millie Morrison Kellogg and husband James, “Jake”; grandchildren, Cody Staude and wife, Brittany, Chad Morrison and wife, Shelley, Candace Morrison, Caitlyn Morrison, Aspyn Grossman, Berlyn Grossman, and Nicole Meier; great grandchildren, Layla, Bodhi, Remi, Charli, Jordan, Sammy, Nathan, Natalie, and Noah; as well as a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Bill in death are his parents; wife, Glenda Farrell Morrison; son, William Pierce Morrison, Jr.; daughter, Kathy Morrison; brother, Oscar Clifton Morrison; and sister, Rosemary Cloud.
