William David Mitchell Jr.

William David Mitchell Jr., age 70, of Beaumont, TX, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was born on January 28, 1953, in Kermit, TX, to W.D. Mitchell Sr. and Beulah Elisabeth McClendon Wylie.

From him could be found words of encouragement, in him many found a coach and friend. He was a charismatic, likeable guy, motivating and drawing the best out of others. He always seemed to know what to say, and sometimes, if he was done saying it, he would delicately and strategically end his conversations with “All y’all go back to Tennessee.” William had the ultimate poker face, and many found it impossible to read him. With wit and light heartedness, he would bring the funny out of situations, even if it just cracked him up. Music was innate to him; he was an old musician, at heart, finding peace in guitar and song. He was generous with his love, and it was reciprocated. Above all, William knew best how to fulfill his callings in life, as a dad, a friend, and loved one; he was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Heath Mitchell and wife Leticia and Jason Mitchell and wife, Coty; daughter, Shelly Gasca and husband, Oscar; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Mitchell; brother, Danny Lee Peeples and wife, Sharon; sisters, Sandra Chambliss and husband, Bobby, and Donna Peeples; grandchildren, Chaise Mitchell, Isabella Mitchell, Gage Mitchell, Leah Pfenninger, Austin Gasca, Grant Mitchell, Nathan Mitchell, and Grace Mitchell; as well as a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding William in death are his parents; son, Adam Mitchell; and sister, Delores Spencer.
