Troy L Bane

Troy L. Bane, 41, passed away in Lumberton on Monday, January 11, 2021. Troy was born in Jasper, Texas on May 22, 1979 to Cleo Bane Jr. and Nell Bane, and was one of five children. Growing up in the Southeast Texas area his entire life, Troy was a true Texan- loving the outdoors, camping and fishing. Troy was a boisterous and energetic man who loved to laugh and enjoyed poking fun at those he cared about. If there was ever a man who truly loved his family and took his greatest joys from time spent with family and friends- it was Troy; the smiles and sheer mirth that Troy found in these situations was the bright current that pushed Troy through life. During these happy occasions with family, you might have had the pleasure of sampling Troy’s great cooking, and chances are if you didn’t try his cooking then you surely heard about it because Troy loved to tell you how skilled he was in the kitchen. Troy was lucky to have shared the last nine years with his soulmate and partner, Erica Reeves Bane, who walked through life with him and loved him deeply. The two enjoyed many happy times on vacations and sightseeing excursions; loving the frequent chances they had to go “cruising” and explore more sights that way. When not trying to see the world or set a new personal best for the largest fish, Troy could be found at work or helping others. Calling Troy “Mr. Fix-It” may seem cliché, but this intelligent man was capable of fixing just about anything mechanical and was a resource for all his friends and family in that respect. Kind-hearted and dependable, Troy’s passing is truly a loss for his friends and family; his life and legacy of helpfulness and love will not soon be forgotten.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Erica Bane and 2 stepchildren; his brothers, Cleo Bane III, Chris Bane and wife Jackie, and Tim Flebbe and wife Melody; his sister, Mylessa Horn and husband Chris; his 10 nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends and extended family.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents Cleo Bane Jr. and Nell Bane.

A life honoring memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00PM located at Freedom Fellowship Church, 8137 West FM 418 Silsbee, TX 77656.
