Thomas C. Curtis

Bro. Thomas Curtis was born to Dorothy Mae Curtis on April 22, 1950, in Franklin, LA. He later moved to Port Arthur, TX.

He joined the Job Corp in May 1972. He completed two training programs. He returned to Port Arthur and united with the New St. John Church under the Rev. Madison Baszile and later under Rev. Claude Comeaux, Jr. Curtis was an active member and served as an usher, male chorus member, and other church organizations. He was always willing to serve in any capacity in which he was needed. He worked at Moody Harris Funeral Home for 14 years as a chauffer until his demise.

Curtis departed this life on Saturday, May 13, 2023, surrounded by his loving caretaker.

Left to honor his memory is his sister, Debra Curtis; special cousin, Eural Jo Etta Washington; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his mother; sister; and dear cousin, Donald Washington.

A special thanks is given to Jo Etta Washington, and the late Donald Washington, Donald Jones, his best friend, Ronald Marshall, and Joyce Booth.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Thomas’s life honoring funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Claude Comeaux officiating.

The family of Thomas Curtis would like to thank everyone for what you've done to encourage Thomas and his family during his illness and transition . Telephone calls, cards, and visits were appreciated, it truly served to lift up our hearts.
