Terry Lynn McDonald

Terry Lynn McDonald, age 64, went to walk with the Lord on February 22, 2024. Son of the late Raymond and Elinore McDonald of Silsbee, Tx, Terry was born on November 10, 1959, and was a resident of Lumberton, TX for over 40 years.

Growing up Terry played football for his hometown until he landed a short career at the railroad. While working at the railroad, he met his first wife, Penny, and started a family.

In his free time, he mastered the art of woodwork. He created beautiful masterpieces from porch swings and picnic tables to custom order pieces. He was finally able to open his own woodshop and was able spend more time with his family including coaching his two daughters’ sports teams. If you had wooden front porch furniture, it is a high possibility that he created it.  

But as daughters grew older, he decided it was time to move on to his next venture as a successful car salesman. Working at two of the biggest dealerships in Southeast Texas, Terry excelled in his career. He could sell ice to an Eskimo. 

Terry enjoyed nothing more than his Friday morning Tee time with his best friends on the golf course. And in June of 2022 he made his first hole in one. (He would want everyone to know that). Terry lived every day to the absolute fullest and never took anything or anyone for granted. Whether it was on the golf course, spending time with his grandchildren, or watching a Dallas game, he was always the brightest light in the room. Now that Terry has gained his angel wings, the world is left a shade darker. 

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Brandi Chapman and husband Jason, Chelsie McDonald and husband Chad; his two brothers, Gerald “Butch” McDonald and wife Charlie, Gary McDonnald and wife Christina; his two grandchildren, Brayden and Brynlee Taylor, and his cat, Missy.
