Teresa Ann Dean

Teresa Ann “Nanny” Richard Dean, 83, passed away on January 11, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will continue to echo through the generations she so dearly cherished.

She was born on December 7, 1942, in Daisetta, Texas, to Raymond Victor Richard and Maybelline “Meb” Walters Richard. Teresa was a devoted wife to Richard W. “PawPaw” Dean; a loving mother to her son, Richard Darrin Dean, and his wife, Lynette, and to her daughter, Alisa Dean; a grandmother to Shawn Dean and his wife, Breanna, and Heather Jones and her husband, Casey; and a great-grandmother to Jaxon, Marceline, and Finn Dean.

A longtime resident of Tyler County, she currently lived in Lumberton, Texas. She was the eldest of six children: Anthony “Tony” Richard and his wife, Penny; Margaret “Polly” Brann and her husband, James “Jim”; Raymond “Pat” Richard and his wife, Mary; Diane Richard; and Jerome Richard and his wife, Teresa. She was also a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Meb and Raymond; her husband, Richard; and her brothers, Tony and Pat.

In her younger years, Teresa was an avid sports mom, always taking her children and their friends to games and events, cheering them on with pride and encouragement. As the years went on, her greatest joy became bringing loved ones together. She loved cooking for family and friends, hosting and attending large gatherings, and filling those moments with laughter, storytelling, and reliving cherished memories.

You will be greatly missed, Nanny, but we find comfort knowing you are now joyfully reunited with PawPaw.

A Celebration of Life honoring Teresa's memory will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Paul M. "Pete" Trest Memorial Building, 140 E Chance Cutoff, Lumberton, TX 77657. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Teresa’s memory to any veteran’s organization.
