Sherita Pauline Downs, age 70, passed from this life on Friday, October 18, 2024. She was born in Beaumont, TX, on April 29, 1954, to Elmer Trenton and Ollie Pauline Young Hensley.
Left to honor her memory is her daughter, Jennifer McDaniel; son, Trenton Downs; sisters, Susan Collins and husband, Coy, and Tracey Hensley; granddaughters, Kinley Brown and husband, Brian, and Keiren McDaniel and husband, William Travis; the one nephew she loved a whole lot, Alex Fisher, and them other ones she had was alright; and countless extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding Sherry in death are her parents and husband and love of her life, William “Bill” Downs.
Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, October 21, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX 77657. Sherry's life honoring funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2024, also at the funeral home, with Reverend Andrew Moore officiating, and burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor, TX.
