Sharron Lynn Gatch, age 78, of Silsbee, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. She was born on November 25, 1947, in Beaumont, TX.
Her gentleness and grace touched every life she encountered. She cared, and she gave. Precious and considerate, she lived a life marked by kindness. She never raised her voice, never let her temper change, and never allowed a harsh word to cross her lips. Sharron met the love of her life, Kendal, while attending middle school. He was smitten from the moment he saw her in seventh grade, and he spent years pursuing her. After many proposals and much persistence, she finally received firm advice from her mother: “Marry that boy and put him out of his misery.” She did just that. They built a life together and remained inseparable until his passing. Sharron cherished time with her sisters, especially traveling and shopping. Together they delighted in finding good deals, whether they needed them or not, sharing a frugal, thrifty spirit that made every trip an adventure. At home, Sharron was a talented cook, best known for her amazing chocolate pie. Faith was a guiding force throughout her life, serving her church family for many years as church secretary. Her life was a story of quiet strength and a heart devoted to others. As a faithful, lifelong Christian, Sharron lived well on this Earth. Though she is gone, she will be forever cherished by her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are nephews, Shawn Hanson and wife, Jeannine, Brandon Hanson and wife, Nikki, Bo Cohrt and wife, Monica, and James Cohrt and wife, Misty; nieces, Lisa Grissom and husband, Lynn, Stacey Galloway, Dawn Hartman and husband, Jeff, and Tara Cohrt; brothers in law, Jim Hanson and Donald Cohrt; nieces in law, Jennifer Galloway and Vicki Galloway; lifelong friend, Cathee Kehtel; 18 grand nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
