Shannon Suzanne Burton

Shannon Suzanne Burton, age 57, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. She was born in Leesville, LA on December 19, 1965, to Dewey Hampton and Helen Rose Ellis.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Faith Marie Toye and husband, Levi and Rachel Prince and fiancé, Khrystian Hadden; her long-time companion, Gary McMorris; bonus-kids, Taylor McFarlin and husband, Chad and Bryce McMorris; sister, Connie Savant and husband, Ed; grandchildren, Vanessa Aguilar, Wyatt Snider, Wesley Toye, Wayne Hadden, and Whitley Toye; beloved pets, a vicious Pomeranian named “Bear”, a “rescue” pup named “Charlie”, and a cat, named “Cat”, that stuck around after she bought her home; as well as many extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Shannon was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lew Ellis, Dewey Ellis, Kiplin Ellis, and Keith Ellis; and sister, Sonja Ellis.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, July 17, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to &:00 p.m., at Grace Church. Shannon’s life honoring funeral service will be Tuesday, July 18, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Grace Church, with Bro. Ray McNames officiating. Interment will follow at Gum Springs Baptist Cemetery.
