Russell Joseph Caillier

Russell Joseph Caillier, age 78, of Lumberton, TX, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was born on June 17, 1945, in Arnaudville, LA, to George and Sable Bergeron Caillier.

According to his sons, he was “My Superman”, a real-life hero. He was a “Most Noble Man” who was known for his strong work ethic and would always be found working on something; whether mowing the 30 acres of lawn at church or building a home or simply planning his next project, he would not be found idle. He was never negative, never complained, always uplifting to everyone and had a “peace that surpassed all understanding.” Russell lived his life for his family, he was a great provider and loved big! He was unashamed of his faith, and a void will be left here without him, but those who knew him look forward to the day they are reunited with him in glory!

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 58 years, Brenda Lee Caillier; sons, Tim Caillier and wife, Terri, of Village Mills and Jeff Caillier and wife, Julie, of Kountze; brother, Bobby Caillier and wife, Betty; sisters, Sylvia Mason, Georgia Spencer, and Sharon Granger; sister-in- law, DJuana Caillier; brother-in-law, Hootie Gilbreath; grandchildren, Josh, Wendell, Hayle, Megan, Macy, Ryan and Reed; 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon Caillier, Darrell Caillier, and Ray Caillier; sister, Delores Gilbreath; sisters-in-law, Velvet Caillier and Sally Caillier; and brothers-in-law, Johnie Paul Spencer, and Chris Granger.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Resweber, Wendell Resweber, Floyd Boyett, Alan Mason, Johnie Spencer, and Chris NeQuent.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Dodson, Bobby Caillier, Paul Caillier, Matt Caillier, Michael Caillier, and David Crochet.
