Ronnie Brashier Obituary

Ronnie Lee Brashier, 71, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in Beaumont. He was born in Kountze on October 30, 1949 to Vondon and Faye Brashier.

My Dad had several nicknames and depending on what stage in his life you knew him is what he was called. “Runt” was what his mother called him, and for a few years he was the runt until his younger brother Randy was born. “Weird Beard” was another nickname he was called in his younger “Partying: days. “Huckleberry” was his log truck driving handle. You would have had to seen the movie Tombstone to understand that one. Of course, he was also known as “Dad” to many, even kids that didn’t belong to him. At church he was Brother Brashier or “Candy Man”. You never had to worry about bad breath when he was around because he always had a pocket full of mints. Although, I think his favorite name was “PawPaw”. You could see his face just light up whenever any of his grandkids entered the room.

He didn’t have a lot of earthy possessions, but he did have a big heart. If he knew someone that was in need, he would give to them even if it meant he went without. He was not afraid of hard work or getting dirty. In fact, I kind of think he liked it.

Daddy loved race cars and dreamed of building one of his own with my brother Ricky. More importantly, my dad loved God, his family, and his country. He was not a perfect man, but he was a great man to us. He is sorely missed by many.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Elaine Brashier; his children, Pamela Brister and husband Theron, Paul Thibault and wife Dawn, Ricky Brashier and wife Nicole, and Matthew Daniels; his son in law, Mark Messick; his siblings, Sharla Riley, and Randy Brashier; his grandchildren, Laura Messick, Ashley Messick, Collin Messick, Charles Curtis Odom, Quinn Brashier, Mia Brashier, Leah Brashier, Tia Brashier, Alana Brashier, Gavin Brashier, Liberty Goins and husband Justin, Justice Brister and wife Brittany, Marissa Brister, and Brighton Brashier; and his great-grandchildren, Miley Odom, Maryn Odom, Elliott Goins, and Levi Goins.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Vondon F. Brashier and Faye Bernard Brashier; his children, Madgeline Faye Messick and Shawn David Brashier; his siblings, Wayne Brashier, Jerry Douglas Brashier, and Ricky Brashier.
