Rodney Lewis Block, 87, of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026. He was born on March 1, 1939, in Beaumont, TX.
He was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion. A lifelong Christian, he lived his beliefs through a steady, committed walk. As the middle son, he was known for his gentle nature and calm presence. He served honorably and proudly in the United States Army Rodney met his beloved wife, Emma, at a youth rally, where their lifelong story began with him lending her a nickel. They married on June 2, 1960, and went on to share 65 years of love, partnership, and faith—an enduring bond that shaped both of their lives. Musically gifted, Rodney played guitar along with several other instruments. He enjoyed good food of all kinds, but nothing compared to Emma’s Thanksgiving dinner, which he looked forward to every year. A passionate Model A enthusiast, Rodney spent countless hours restoring and driving his cherished Model A’s and his 1947 Mercury. Rodney will be remembered for his faith, his quiet spirit, and the steadfast love he shared with his family. His legacy lives on in the memories he created and the example he set.
Left to honor is memory is his wife, Emma Lee Block; son, Rodney Lewis Block Jr. and wife, Shannon; daughter, Annalee Denise Skinner and husband, Brent; grandchildren, Jordan Skinner and Peyton Skinner; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
