Robert Leo Weisheit, "Grandpa", age 84, of Orange, TX, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023. He was born on July 8, 1939, in Connersville, IN, to Frederick Elmer and Alice Louise Cook Weisheit.
To those that he loved, the work that he did, and the country that he belonged, Robert’s heart knew devotion. He took pride in his blessings and faced life’s tribulations with a contentment that lacked complaint. “Not too bad” was his response to anyone when asked how he was doing. With the support of his daughter and many prayers, he found deliverance and overcame struggles that had followed him for many years, quitting alcohol cold turkey. Robert had a place that he went to for rest, a lake in Mountain Home, Arkansas. It was on the lake that he found peace, on the lake that he met and fell in love with the Lord in 2009. For the rest of his journey on the Earth, he served the Lord with his devoted heart. Robert may have been his given name, but his real name was “Grandpa” to just about everyone. When he was not fishing, he loved hamburgers, handywork, and mowing. Grandpa ran his race on this Earth well, surrounded by love, and passed from this life to his Heavenly home. Loving hearts will miss and remember him always.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Allison Elaine Weisheit Davis and husband, Scott “Stud”, of Orange, TX; sons, Neil Robert Weisheit and wife, Mercy, of Mt. Holly, NJ, and Douglas Wayne Weisheit and wife, Denise, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Jesse Davis, Lindsey Davis Taylor and husband, Adam, Sara Michutka, Stephen Michutka and wife, Stephanie, Nicholas Davis and wife, Mollea, Jade Weisheit, Aljayroo Weisheit, Andrew Martinez, Matthew Martinez and wife, Mandrelle, Marissa Martinez, and Meriah Weisheit; 17 great-grandchildren; nephew, Kenny Weisheit and wife, Brenda, of Connersville, IN; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
