Robert “Bobby” Jules Gans, age 75, of Kountze TX, passed away at his home Monday, June 24th, 2024. He was the first born in Anderson County, Palestine Texas, January 1st, 1949, to Maurice Allen Gans & Prudence “Prudie” Margarette Calloway-Gans. He was also raised by his Aunt Jaunita Calloway-Kennedy, “Auntie”.
To so many who knew Bobby he had to have had 9 lives! He had what some would call a “Gypsy soul”, but he put down roots 12 years ago in Kountze TX for his daughter, Jewel. He was raised Christian and attended a non-denominational/baptist church throughout his life and was saved. He loved animals and always had a dog. He loved the outdoors and traveling to the beach or lake. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, classic cars & trucks. He enjoyed building or fixing things. His favorite meal was steak or fresh seafood. Beverage was a cold Miller Lite with a Winning Cowboy’s football game. If you were to ask him what his greatest accomplishment was, he never hesitated to say “My Jewel”.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Margaret “Jewel” Payne and husband Benjamin Michael Payne; step-grandchild, Brennan Michael Payne of Honey Island TX; brother, Nicholas “Butch” Gans and wife Ann Shanefield-Gans of Elkhart, TX; niece, Sara Gans-Colon and husband Chris Colon of Beaumont, TX; and great-nephew, Dusten Colon and wife Annie Hart-Colon of Beaumont, TX.
Preceding Bobby in death are his parents and aunt.
