Robert Swearingen Jr. Obituary

Mr. Robert "Bobby" Chapman Swearingen Jr., 63, of Kountze, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 28, 2021. Robert was born on April 29, 1958, in Beaumont to Fay Crysel Swearingen and Robert Chapman Swearingen Sr.

First and foremost, when speaking of Robert people mention his faith in God and his love for his family. A hard-working man who loved his job, Robert was always first to help those he loved and anyone else he could. There was literally nothing Robert wouldn’t do for his two children, and later when he became a “Pawpaw” there was nothing he wouldn’t give or do for his grandbabies. A lover of fishing and often seen with rings of keys hanging from his jeans and wielding his fishing pole, Robert enjoyed sharing this hobby with his children and grandchildren as well when able. When you met Robert, you made a friend because he loved to visit and hardly ever met a “stranger”. A lover of long conversations, he enjoyed frequenting Elijah’s in Woodville and The Hitchin’ Post in Hillister where his presence and commentary will surely be missed. It is no surprise that this honest and good man found a wonderful life companion and wife whom he devoted more than 41 years of love and marriage too; Robert and Caprice danced their ways into each other’s heart and its has been a beautiful story of dedicated partnership ever since. When their dancing days were over Robert and Caprice loved to go out to eat and shop. The kindhearted words and caring advice Robert gave in his lifetime will be treasured by all those who knew him, and his friends, family, and wife will never stop loving him.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Caprice Ann Young Swearingen of Kountze; his mother, Fay Crysel Swearingen of Lumberton; his daughters: Brandy Freeman and husband Wayne of Lumberton, and April Brothers and husband Trey of Kountze; his siblings: Wayne Swearingen and wife Nancy of Chandler, and Alice Smith and husband Gary of Kountze; his grandchildren: Logan Freeman and wife Cheyenne, Raven Freeman, Izabella Freeman, Madison Brothers, and Mason Brothers; his great-grandchildren: Wrangler, Delilah, and Sage; his niece, Stephanie Wright and husband Ben; his nephew, Justin Smith and daughter Adaline; as well as numerous friends, co-workers, and extended family members through the years.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Chapman Swearingen Sr.

Serving as Pallbearers will be: Logan Freeman, Izabella Freeman, Madison Brothers, Mason Brothers, Wayne Swearingen, and Gary Smith.
