Robert James Gootee

Robert James Gootee, affectionately known as “Bob”, 90, of Vidor, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026. He was born on December 22, 1935, to Earl and Eleanor Gootee in Detroit, MI.

Bob was always ready for an adventure. He enjoyed being on the water, going for a drive, or working outside. He came to Texas by boat in 1980 via the Mississippi River. He was a master of many trades and a truck driver with his wife for 30 years.

Left to cherish his memory are James “Jim” Arminski, Hally, Aric, Ethan, Evan as well as a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister, wife, Frances Gootee of 57 years, and daughter, Kathryn Arminski.

Following his wishes, he will be cremated.
