Richard Lloyd Poe Sr.

Richard Lloyd Poe Sr., 80, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. He was born on April 22, 1946, in Mississippi, to Montgomery Poe and Maime Ash Brown.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Judy Poe; son, Richard Poe Jr. and wife, Julie; brothers, Larry Poe and Jimmy Poe; grandchildren, Robin Kasper, Shelby Laughlin, Whitney Williford, Richard Poe III, and Cory Poe; great-grandchildren, Michael Hughes, Mayson Andersen, Ava Andersen, Brantley Taylor, Hayden Taylor, Kayden Taylor, Wyatt Williford, Brett Williford, and Wren Poe; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Richard in death are his parents; daughter, Rhonda Laughlin; brother, Gerald Poe; and sisters, Joy Parks, Hazel Burge, and Betty Williams.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S Main St. Lumberton, TX 77657. Richard's life honoring funeral service will begin at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Loeb Cemetery in Lumberton, TX.
