Rebekah "Bekah" Young Obituary

Rebekah Elaine Young was born in Port Arthur, Texas at St. Mary’s Hospital on November 2, 1990 and passed away on August 7, 2020 in Louisiana. Growing up, Rebekah lived with her mother, Stephanie Denise Forrester and she was 18 months old when her stepfather, William Forrester became a part of her family. Rebekah has 4 siblings, an older brother named Thomas Michael Young, and half-siblings Jacob Young, Lucas Young, Wyatt Young, and Bethany Stevens. Rebekah lived with her mom and stepdad who were the two driving forces of love that brought her up. Rebekah always said her mom has always been the person that was there through the rough times, and usually knew how to make everything better. Rebekah and her stepdad might not have always seen eye to eye, but he always supported her in school, and any goals or dreams that she had for her life. Rebekah always said that he had been through a lot with her and was the greatest dad she could ask for, and really the only one she knew or trusted. Rebekah had a lot of nicknames from a lot of different people; her mom called her Butta-Jean, her Mimi and Uncle Stephen called her Becks, her dad, ex-stepmom and brothers called her Becky-Lou-Lou, and everyone else called her Rebekah or Bekah. She lived most of her life in Kountze, Texas. While in school Rebekah played the trombone and loved it so much, marching season was truly one of her favorite parts of her high school experience. One of Rebekah’s dreams for her life was to live in a log cabin style home in Tennessee; having a beautiful, mysterious yard full of plants and lots of dogs, and to have her loving family with her. Rebekah had so many beautiful plans for her future from her desire to be an amazing mother to her son and to wanting to graduate college with a RN-BSN degree. Rebekah’s philosophy on life was simple but direct “My life may be boring to some, but hey it’s my life and why shouldn’t I use it to benefit others? After all, I have a great life most of the time.”

Those who are left here in a world without Rebekah will truly missed her for her love, personality, and for all the potential that she leaves behind.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Laiton Smith, and step daughter Summer Smith; co-parent Cody Smith;  Brothers, Thomas Young, Wyatt and Lucas, and Jake Young; Sister, Bethany Stevens; Parents, William and Stephanie Forrester; Father and Step Mother, Roy and Megan Young; Step Mother, Donya Stevens; Grandparents, Ray and Teri Jester; Grandmother, Virginia Forrester; Cousins, John and Danielle Bullock; Uncle, David Forrester and wife Sonia; Cousins, Krystal and Kara; Aunt, Robbie Keene and husband Micheal; Great-Great Grandmother, Ethel Bloomer; Aunt and Uncle, Stephen and Danielle Jester; and Cousins, Sarah, Beth, and Ben.
