Randy Spurlock Obituary

Randy “Rudy” Spurlock

1971 - 2021

Randall Gene Spurlock, age 50, passed away on May 5, 2021. Randy was born on February 27, 1971 in Beaumont, TX to Britton Monroe Sr. and Laura Ladell Haverly Spurlock.

In his heart was love, a lifelong love, a generous and abiding love, for his family, his friends, his many beloveds, and the truest loves of his life, Lauren and Kaylynn, his daughters. Randy, or “Rudy” as many knew him, was defined by the simplicity of his soft-heartedness and the quietness of his demeanor. He was the quiet one, pleasant to be around, and in his humility and modesty, he was bestowed a deep admiration by nearly all that met him. Randy’s softness melded with a zest and passion for life, and he lived. To the fullest, he lived. He assessed things in his own way; through his filter and vision, to him, there was nothing unfixable, there was no trash but a potential. This is where he focused his heart and put his hands to work, and with that he built great things, maybe not to others but to him. His prized project was his Harley, that he quite literally built from the wheels and bolts, each part placed by his hands. His talent was not limited to mechanical ventures, though that served him well in his career, but he was an artist, a musician, and a fantastic cook. A handsome man, he had many places in his heart for many, and he shared that love, and he was absolutely loved back. Fast moving and purposeful, the only thing that he would pause for was a need that he came across; Randy would help anyone that needed helping, unconditionally and unreservedly. His passion did not halt with humanity, as he was somewhat of a dog-whisperer. He just knew how to talk to them and connect with them, especially his boxers and bulldogs, though his boxer “Rowdy” always held a special place. Randy was full of life, of that there is no doubt. Though he left this Earth far too soon, he left each of those that he loved a piece of his immeasurable heart and will forever be cherished and remembered.

Left to honor his memory are his loving daughters, Lauren Rose Spurlock and Kaylynn Cheyenne Spurlock of Spurger, TX; mother, Laura Ladell Spurlock and husband, John Turner, of Silsbee; brothers, Britton M. Spurlock Jr. and wife, Rhonda, of Silsbee, TX and Bryan Ernest “Bo” Spurlock and wife, Selena, of Silsbee, TX; his custom-built Harley; many dear friends and beloved sweethearts; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Preceding Randy in death by his father, Britton Monroe Spurlock Sr.
