Penny Alana (Marshall) Peden

Penny Alana Peden, age 61, went to walk with the Lord on October 16, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late JE and Elizabeth Marshall, Penny was born on April 24, 1960 and was a resident of Lumberton, TX for over 60 years.

Being the youngest of 3 children and the only daughter, her dad thought she hung the moon. From an early childhood, she was given the attention ever daughter deserves. From helping her dad at Firestone, to an impressive career at KFDM, she always managed to put God and her family first. She enjoyed nothing more than sitting on the beach in the warm sun listening to the ocean. She taught everyone to appreciate the small things in life—to stop and smell the roses. She always paused to watch a beautiful sunset, and to embrace an early morning sunrise. She loved and appreciated flowers in bloom and the sweet smell of jasmine. Penny was a true believer and thanked the Lord daily for her blessings in life, her faith never faded. God chose Penny from an early age to shine His light through her.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Charlie Peden; her three daughters, Brandi Chapman and husband Jason, Chelsie McDonald, Julie Rigsby and husband Kyle; her two brothers, Jimmie Marshall and wife Linda, Ray Marshall and wife Sherial; her 6 grandchildren, Brayden and Brynlee Taylor, Shelia, Katrine, Jessica, and Joshua Rigsby; her two great-grandchildren, and 3 grand-dogs.

As a family, we are passionate in the awareness, research, and prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease. We ask everyone to make a donation here in honor of Penny.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S Main St. Lumberton, Tx 77657.
