Paul Lloyd Monic, age 72, passed away on February 19, 2021. He was born on November 18, 1948 in Lufkin, TX to Lloyd A. and Florene Bowden Monic.
Behind the meek, quiet exterior of Paul there was a heart, love, and character, that is rarely seen in this life. His nature was open and inviting, yet not with words, but with a smile. Paul poured himself into accomplishing whatever needed his special touch of perfection. Paul was strong, he was a fighter in his own way, possessing a strength that lasted until his very last breath. In his sincerity and acceptance, many found a dear friend that could be trusted. Raised with five siblings, he developed a strong bond with his family and especially his beloved Mama. He enjoyed his Mama’s cooking especially the homemade biscuits. In 1970, Paul and Pat married, and Paul welcomed into his heart two sons, Larry and Lee. For several years Paul worked in engineering Petrochemical and Nuclear Power Stations. After seven years in Aruba, his retirement brought him back to remain in Lumberton.
Left to honor his memory is his wife, Patricia Monic; sons, Larry Duke and wife, Michelle, of Phoenix, AZ and Lee Duke and wife, Amy, of Lumberton, TX; sisters, Margie Beard and husband, Roy, June Peveto, JoAnn Marshall and husband, Charles, and Betty Cunningham; granddaughters, Danielle, Tara, Sabrina, and Katrina; and numerous extended family, friends and loved ones.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be laid to rest with a private attendance at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee, TX.
