Paul Derwin Gore, 61, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 in Spurger. He was born in Kountze on November 27, 1959 to Samuel Chester Gore Sr. and Willie Bell Gore.
Paul was a simple man when it comes right down to it. He loved his family with his whole heart and wanted them around him whenever possible. Paul might have been a little hardheaded truth be told, but it was always with the best of intentions that he shared his opinions and views on things with those he knew and loved. A hard worker, Paul was dedicated to his career- providing for his family, and his “projects”. Mr. Fix-It was always ready to jump in and make anything “work”; just ask Doug about Dad’s fender fiasco! Later in life, if you didn’t find Paul working on a project chances are he was tending his chickens and goat, gardening or fishing with the same dedication he gave to all things he really enjoyed. Pride doesn’t really describe the deep and unabiding love Paw Paw felt for his grandchildren in particular; known for carting around his little sidekicks wherever he could as often as possible, his most recent obsession was just waiting for his youngest grandson to be old enough to go fishing. Father, Paw Paw, brother, and friend- Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memories will live on in their stories and hearts.
Left to cherish his memory is his father, Samuel Gore Sr.; his wife, Marsnell Gore; his children, Terry Denise Gore, Doug Gore and wife Ashley, Crystal Gore, Donna Kay Lynch and husband Dustin, Thomas Bell and wife Debra; his siblings, Walter Lynn Blair and wife Joyce, Oliver Gore and wife Jeannie, Huebert Gore and wife Tootsie, Jody Cravy and wife Kerry, Rena James and husband Llyod, Donna Bell, Debra Jeffcoat and husband Carlton, Delinda Sirmons, Patricia Walker and husband Clint; his grandbabies, Nicole, Christopher, Tara, Summer, Karlee, Brendon, Blaydon, Doug Gore Jr., Daisy, George, Austin, Noah, and Abel; his 4 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Bell Gore; his siblings, Rogers Gore, Averil Gore, Samuel C. Gore Jr., and Rachel Robinson.
