Patrick Carr Obituary

Mr. Patrick Lynn Carr, 53, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020.

“Wow, that first breath in heaven must have been amazing.”

                                         -J.C. Morrison (youngest brother)

Born January 9, 1967, to Donnella Rose Carr in Beaumont, TX, Patrick entered heaven on October 18, 2020.

As a Welder most of his life, Patrick traveled the country to complete jobs, but Beaumont and especially the Neches River, was home. Hunting, fishing, frogging, or crabbing, if it was in the woods or on the water, he was happy.  For that reason, his family will soon meet on the river bank near one of his favorite fishing spots to celebrate his life and share meaningful stories.

He was healthy up until a Stroke in December 2019 changed the trajectory of his life forever.  He worked very hard to overcome it.  Patrick said repeatedly, “I’m going to walk again, buy another boat and take those baby girls (his three precious granddaughters - Cailen, Skyelar, and Lakelyn Hallock) out on the river.”  Although that didn’t occur before he left us, he did do all in his power to demonstrate his love for them and his only daughter, Shala. His son, Dakota, was likely the first in line to meet him in heaven.

Most obituaries list brothers, sisters, grandparents, etc., but our family is kinda complicated and in the Hart/Carr family, if we take you in, it’s like being in the Mob . . . you’re “family” forever.

So, if you’re wondering exactly how everyone listed is related, don’t tax yourself (we have double cousins).  Go have a beer (or whatever you want) in honor of Pat and forget it.  Only Sam and his mother call him Patrick, or Patrick Lynn if he’s in trouble or we really want to get his attention.

Many people will miss Patrick every day until they reach heaven and see him again. Some are Donnella Looger, Shala Carr, Katherine “Sam” Carr, David Neff, Brian Neff, Sonya Diaz,

Colton Carr, “Dumplin’ Neff”- a pet squirrel residing at Sam’s that Patrick named, “Smoky Joe Neff”- Sam’s pit bull that liked to sleep in the recliner with Patrick, Melinda Morrison Nelson,

Jeffrey Morrison, J.C. Morrison, Tommy Knight, Chris & Stacy Butts, Laura Butts French, Paula Williamson, Madeline Gill,

Darlene Bales, Joe Ferguson, Laci Phillips, Gina Martel, Pat Harper, Butch Harper, Jimmy Butts, Danny Hargraves, Kenny Mathews, Ricky Woods, Andy Smith, Steven Milligan

Alan &. Lori Desormeaux, Johnny King, Tiger Drody, and Brian & Wendy Leger

Some are family, some are friends and fishing buddies.  There are people listed that got him into a skilled nursing facility and a top rated rehab hospital, took him to doctor’s appointments, shared their home, did his laundry, bought his groceries, worked on his truck, and so much more.

When Patrick arrived in heaven, both legs and both arms worked again.  He could walk, run, and twirl around like a little kid.

Celebrating in heaven with Patrick are Dakota Martel, Arnold Ray Carr, Tommie Lue Carr, Elizabeth Ann Carr, Mary Ann Hart Hargraves, Earlene Hart Leblanc Walles, Duval & Rosa Carr, Robert & Jewel Hart, and Cliff Morrison

It’s good that we don’t know the stories they are telling him about us.
