Orelia Louise (Decuir) Robbins

Orelia “Ree Ree” Robbins went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, December 26, 2025.  She was born in Beaumont, Texas, the youngest daughter of Mitchel and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Stansbury Decuir.

She graduated from St. Anthony’s High School in Beaumont, Texas. Ree Ree’s personal career included the most important job of homemaking as well as opportunities in the clerical field, sales, and substitute teaching. In 1960, Ree Ree married the love of her life, James S. Robbins. They were devoted to one another in marriage for over 65 years. Their loving marriage is a godly example to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The last six years were especially a testament to the vows: “in sickness and in health” and “‘til death do us part.”

 Ree Ree loved Jesus, was a devoted follower of her Lord and Savior, and was a faithful member of Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Lumberton, Texas. She also attended worship services at the First Baptist Church of Loeb in Lumberton, Texas, with James until her health no longer allowed it. Because of her love for Jesus, Ree Ree faithfully ministered in many ways through her church, Infant Jesus. Ree Ree’s practice of Christian hospitality and serving as the hands and feet of Jesus included sharing homebound communion and visiting nursing homes. Ree Ree’s doors and kitchen were always open. She and James provided shelter to family, friends, and strangers alike. Ree Ree was a gracious and loving caregiver to numerous people in need.

Ree Ree never met a game she didn’t like. Many family gatherings included card games, dominoes, and games of chance—especially poker. Ree Ree enjoyed the loving times spent with family and friends around the gaming table and won more than her share of hands.

Ree Ree’s memory is cherished by her loving husband, James S. Robbins; daughter Rhonda “Roo” Bradford and husband, Rev. Dr. Brad Bradford, of Wetumpka, Alabama; daughter Darlene Stokes and husband, Steve, of Lumberton, Texas; daughter Diane Minton and husband, Mike, of Lumberton, Texas.

She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kellie Kersh and husband, James; Chad Minton and wife, Lene; Caroline Morse and husband, Matt; Allison Drake and husband, Joseph; Jarrod Stokes and wife, Laurin; Aaron Minton and wife, Lindsey; and Jason Stokes and wife, Corynn.

Ree Ree is also forever loved by her 19 great-grandchildren: Taylor, Tristen, Trey, Grayson, Aiden, Graham, Wynton, Griffin, Cooper, Emmy, Chandler, Baileigh, Hallie, Avery, Josie, Connor, Chase, Audrey, and Maisy.

Ree Ree is also survived and cherished by brothers Glenn Decuir and wife, Mary, and Merlin Decuir—Sisters-in- law, Patsy Elliot, Martha Anderson, and Rita Self and husband, Louie.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wilton Decuir and Artie Paul Decuir; sister, Cecile Eatherly; sister-in-law, Diana Tatum; and brothers-in-law, William “Bill” Robbins and wife, Carolyn, and Charlie Anderson.

Ree Ree’s family wishes to express their love and appreciation to Heart of Texas Hospice, her in-home care givers, and the incredible staff of Silsbee Oaks Health Care.

A Christian Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton, Texas 77657.
