Mona Lynette Folsom, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. She was born on September 30, 1940, in Corpus Christi, TX, to Virgil Manous and Eva Hoover BeBee.
Mona had an innate sense of style, always up-to-date with the latest home and garden trends. She possessed a green thumb, cultivating beautiful gardens and fruit trees. Her passion for home decor and gardening was matched by her love for collecting cookbooks and sporting her beloved "momo" dresses and classic red shoes. Mona also had a particular fondness for resale shops, where she would often find hidden treasures. Known as the "crawfish queen," Mona enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including bingo, Yahtzee, and dominoes. Her adventurous spirit took her to Las Vegas and Louisiana, where she delighted in the thrill of gambling. Music brought immense joy to Mona's life, with favorites like Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, and Brenda Lee always playing in her heart.
Professionally, Mona was a skilled barber, known for her ability to make everyone feel at home in her chair. But above all, her family was the cornerstone of her life. She treasured every moment with them, singing to her granddaughters and teaching her grandchildren unique and memorable activities, such as deep-frying crickets and dipping them in chocolate. Her playful spirit and love for her family will be dearly missed.
Left to honor Mona’s memory is her son, David Andress and wife, Tina; daughters, Ramona Buckley and husband, Barry and Dorinda Fritz and husband, Robert; brothers, Junior Manous and Robert Manous; cousin, Wyedette Williams; grandchildren, Brittney Garcia, Trisha Brown, Jeremy Alexander, Zachary Buckley, Brent Messer, and Bryon Neisser; great grandchildren, Lisa, Ashlyn, Tyler, Kierstin, Hailey, Michael, Miranda, Samantha, Emberly, Nathan, Roslin’D, Brian, Taylor, and Naylen; great-great grandchildren, Axell, Emerson, Kendall, and Olivia ; as well as a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
