Mrs. Mildred Jane (Marshall) Fowler, best known as "Maw Pat", went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the age of 80. Maw Pat was born on Tuesday, April 8, 1941 in Newton, Texas to Mr. J.B. Marshall and Mrs. Mildred Marshall. Maw Pat was an exceptional example of a woman dedicated both to the Lord and to her family. A kind and loving woman who truly loved everyone, Maw Pat was a mother to anyone who needed or wanted one. Many people were blessed to call her Maw Pat and she was loved by so many. Quick to help others, Maw Pat was generosity embodied yet always managed to keep a firm handle on any situation. Blessed with three children of her own, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of "adopted children" over the years, family was the center of Maw Pat's world. Faithfully serving her Lord and community however she was able, Maw Pat was also a devoted member of Grace Church for many years. When not spending time with those that she loved best, Maw Pat also enjoyed reading and searching out antiques at estate sales and garage sales. This incredible honest and loving woman leaves a void in the hearts of those she has known and loved over the course of her beautiful life and she will not soon be forgotten.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: James "Jimmy" William Fowler, James "Jay" Cecil Fowler Jr., and Louise Woodard and husband Sherman; her grandchildren: Eric Simmons, James William Fowler Jr. and wife Jennifer Spivey, John Christopher Fowler, Michael Woodard, and Christina Drake and husband Coty; and numerous great-grandchildren, adopted children, church family, and friends throughout the years.
Maw Pat is preceded in death by her parents: J.B. Marshall, Mildred Marshall, and Eva "Big Momma" Marshall; her late husband, James "Gene" Cecil Fowler Sr.; and her great-grandson Hunter Fowler.
To honor Maw Pat's life and legacy of love, the family will hold a memorial service at her home church of Grace Church in Kountze, Texas at a later date. Please check back for more details as they become available.
