Michael Edward Anders, 73, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023. He was born in Beaumont, TX on Groundhog Day, February 2, 1950 to parents Melvin and Emmie (Lakey) Anders.
Michael graduated from high school and went to work in the iron industry. He eventually became a teacher for troubled youth and was very good at connecting with young people. Michael never met a stranger, was always quick with a joke, and enjoyed being the life of the party. He met Mary Mattox and was married to her on December 24, 1969. They enjoyed family camping trips, and he was an excellent fisherman. Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and caring person to all his friends.
Left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Anders; son, Kory Anders and wife Lacey; daughter, Kristen Anders; grandchildren, Kye Anders, Mattox Anders, Hendrix Anders, Lennox Anders, and Rouxby Anders; brothers, Melvin Dwayne Anders and wife Paula, Randy Anders and wife Elaine, and Danny Anders; and numerous nieces and nephews extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Edward Anders and Emmie Elizabeth Lakey Anders.
