Max Sepulvado Obituary

Max Pete Sepulvado passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the age of 94. Max was born to Hosea Sepulvado and Mary Ebarb on January 21, 1932, in Ebarb, Louisiana.

Max grew up in the woods of Sabine Parish, where his early life taught him resilience. He grew a strength of character that carried him through every chapter that followed. As a young man, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Army and serving in Korea, proudly becoming a decorated veteran. Returning home, Max threw himself into work, first taking on whatever jobs that he could find, then eventually building a long and successful career in the oilfield and oilfield services. He was known not only for his work ethic but for the genuine enjoyment he found in it. In 1986, after retiring from the oil industry, Max purchased Fred’s Packing Store. For more than three decades, the store became a place where Max’s humor and personality, made folks feel welcome. He had a knack for connecting with people, especially ladies, using his wit, charm, and appreciation for beauty. Beneath his polished appearance and straightforward manner, Max had a soft and generous heart. He supported his church faithfully and quietly helped those in need, never seeking recognition for the kindness he offered. His humor was quick, his assessments blunt but honest, and his loyalty lasting. Outside of work, Max found joy in the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were lifelong passions that kept him connected to the land. Even after selling the store in 2017, he refused to sit still, always finding ways to stay busy as he could. Max lived life on his own terms, and his presence will be deeply missed.

Preceding Max in death are his parents and brother, Hosey Sepulvado Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Max P. Sepulvado II and wife, Natasha; sister, Mary Jane Homea; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
