Mary Virginia Mazerat Pattillo, 76 gained her angel wings on May 28, 2024.
Mary was born on October 25, 1947, to Mary Virginia and George Joseph Mazerat in Beaumont, Texas. During her childhood, she lived in Lumberton as well as several years in Baton Rouge where she graduated high school. Mary believed her top priority was being the best Mom to her girls and decided to influence others while driving the Lumberton school bus for many years. Additionally, she took great pride in delivering mail to her customers for 28 years. However, her favorite title was Meme and she enjoyed supporting each of her grandkids with their various activities. Mary was always the life of the party you wouldn’t find her without a cold one or a smoke. She was always ready and willing to spend her time by the pool, at the beach, or watching the LSU Tigers. She made her mark on all that knew her with her wit and spunky attitude.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Kasey and Kenneth Taylor of Nederland, and Kristin Pattillo and Jimmy Odom of Wildwood. MeMe’s favorites: Kayla Taylor, Kristopher and Kadin Allen, Tabatha Taylor Bach, Trace Taylor, and Nick Ponce along with her great grandchildren. Her sister Diane “Tootie” Edwards and brother Jody Mazerat and Joanna along with numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
A gathering of Ms. Pattillo’s family and friends will be from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm on Monday June 3, 2024 in the Chapel of the Lumberton Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel; burial will follow at the Walton Family Cemetery in Lumberton.
