Mary Haynes Obituary

Mary Kaye Dominick Haynes, 62, of Lumberton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Born May 19, 1958 to Pete Dominick Jr. and Lola Lee Crane Dominick, Kaye was a twin and the second of four children. Growing up in a boisterous family certainly helped Kaye to become the outspoken and bold person so many came to know. Never shy and always willing to give anything she had, Kaye was a kind and generous person who loved others deeply. She loved to meet new people and was quick to recall small details that made a person feel special and heard. To say Kaye was good at many things would be an understatement, she was good at whatever she chose to put her mind too; loving to sew and garden, a fantastic cook. Her penchant for learning new things was lifelong for her and Kaye tried her hand at many things including welding and cosmetology school. Kaye’s clear love for life was evident in her care and passion for her family the most. From family meals and holidays to singing in church choir with her family in the congregation, Kaye loved to be with those she loved more than anything else. Making her church home at First Baptist Church of Lumberton, Kaye saw so many of the best days of her life happen there from memories of baptisms to choir performances. A wonderful mother, sister, and friend, Kaye will be deeply missed by all those that knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Johnny Haynes Jr., Kathryn Janiece Lewis and husband Korey, and Hannah Haynes; her siblings, Dale Ray Dominick, Martha Faye Barrow, and Alana Ingram; and her numerous cousin, friends, and beloved church family.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Pete Dominick Jr. and Lola Lee Crane Dominick.

To honor the life and legacy of Kaye, the family will have a Memorial Service on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Lumberton in Kaye’s memory.
