Mr. Melvin "Mark" Marcus Jackson, 65, of Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021. Mark was born in Beaumont on January 20, 1956 to Melvin and Ruth Jackson.
Mark was so unique because of his fierce love. His love for the lost. His love for the less fortunate. His love for his family. His love for Dee. He genuinely cared about you when you walked in a room. Seldom has a man been seen who was able to gather “troops” for the Kingdom like Mark. He had a way of raising up movers and shakers for the Kingdom. He reminded you this life isn’t about you-it’s about making Heaven crowded. It’s about the widows, orphans, homeless, needy and the lost. What a legacy Mark leaves. His life serves as a reminder to challenge us to not get comfortable in a seat at church-but that our world is a mission field… That we should be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Dee Ann Kelley Jackson; his children, Andy Mark Jackson and wife Stephanie of Lumberton, Angela Christine Jackson of Beaumont; his sisters, Carol Sue Russell and husband Roger of Vidor, Dorothy Lee Frasier and husband Russell of Jasper, Mary Jane Brown and husband David of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Alexandria Davis and husband Danny of Beaumont, Marcus Jackson of Lumberton, Kristyn Jones of Longview, Kaitlyn Dillon of Beaumont, Makenna Sanders and husband Matt of Lumberton; his great-grandchildren, Harper, Sophie, Annalise, Adiline, Julian, and Logan; his self-adopted grandchildren, Catherine Escagne, Hailey, Robert, and Edith Donley; as well as numerous extended friends and family.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ruth Jackson.
