Marilyn L. Jones

Marilyn “MeMe” Lucille Jones passed from this life on January 2, 2019. She was born on September 13, 1950 to Hugh Allen Cormicle and Jennie Mae Cormicle in Beaumont, TX. 

Marilyn was a kind and loving person, and her outgoing nature allowed her to spread that love to all who knew her. Her family saw her as the glue that held them together; her yorkie (Macy) knew her as her valet to Sonic, and her grandson, Kevin, knew her as “MeMe”. Kevin was her pride and joy; he and MeMe went on adventures together and their love for each other was unstoppable. She was a giver not a taker; when she saw a void, she was magnetized to fill it. She also knew how to take care of herself, and a hair dressing appointment with Phyllis at Lagniappe in Vidor was never out of the question. Window shopping, Christmas shopping or online shopping, she just loved to shop, the cause for her abundant excess of recliners. Marilyn loved her TV shows; she could stay on channel 6 all day long. Her routine started in the morning with “The 700 Club”, moving on to her soap operas, “Bold and Beautiful” and “The Young and The Restless”, as well as “Deal or No Deal” and “The Price is Right.” Along with her many purchases and unopened boxes, Marilyn leaves behind an imprint of love and warm memories.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Jones and fiancé, Mikala Barnett, of Vidor, TX; “other daughter”, Kim Manual and husband, Brandon of Vidor, TX; and grandchild, Kevin Matthew Jones of Vidor, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kyle “Gene” Eugene Jones Jr.; son, Kevin Eugene Jones; and brother, Ross Cormicle.
