Lynette Ranell Williams, 62, of Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026. She was born on November 2, 1963, in Kountze, TX.
She lived her life anchored in her faith and in her family. She sustained a steady, wholehearted devotion to the Lord that shaped her strength, her honesty, and her love. She was opinionated and stubborn in her own way, never afraid to speak a truth she believed needed to be heard. Her voice was bold, but her heart was loyal, and when Lynette loved you, that love stayed for life. This was never more proven than with her 43‑year journey with her husband, John, a marriage built on devotion, shared grit, and a bond that never wavered. Lynette found joy in many things. She lit up a dance floor with a smooth, confident two-step, and she could fish from sunrise to sunset, happy on the water. She loved the excitement of casino nights, where she found fun and occasional luck. But her proudest title was “Nana.” Her grandchildren were her joy and her legacy. She loved them with the same fierceness she gave to everyone she held close. Lynette’s life was full; full of faith, full of fire, full of love that didn’t quit. Her presence and her spirit will be missed deeply and remembered always.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, John M. Williams Sr.; sons, Joshua Mark Williams and wife, Magan and John Marcus Williams Jr. and wife, Christy; daughter, Katie Miranda Teel and husband, Shawn; mother, Nelda Brooks; brothers, Bobby Hampshire and wife, Winnie, John Taylor and wife, Linda, Bradley Hampshire and wife, Angie, and Sammy Hampshire; sisters, Susan Gail Hampshire, Glenda Hampshire, Joy Deleon, and Maylee Hampshire; sister-in-law, Anna Hampshire; grandchildren, Austin Williams, Noah Williams, Kinsley Williams, John Dean Williams, Jackson Stephens, Bailey Stephens, Libby Teel, Nykolaus Teel, Xavier Teel, and Catalina Teel; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding Lynette in death is her father, Sammy Hampshire; brothers, Brian Hampshire, Billy Hampshire, Bruce Hampshire, and Wesley Hampshire; grandson, Reese Teel; and son-in-law, Zach Winsted.
