Lucrecia Juarez Becka

Mrs. Lucrecia Juarez Becka, 77, of Lumberton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and beloved husband on Thursday, April 9, 2020. “Ketcha” as her friends called her, was born in Laredo, TX June 26, 1942 to her parents, Julian Juarez Sr. and Maria Juarez. One of seven children, Lucrecia grew up in a large family full of love; her strong roots at home would lead her to be an amazing mother when she had children of her own. Lucrecia was lucky enough to have had a beautiful life with her husband Jerry C. Becka Jr. and together the two had three daughters, raising them here in Lumberton. Lucrecia was a strong presence in her home and involved in the local PTA at her girl’s schools, a Blue Bird Leader, home room mother and so much more as her children grew up. Lucrecia raised her children to know the value of family and when her babies had babies, making her a grandmother, she was happy to have even more children and family to love. A kind and caring woman, Lucrecia will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Jerry C. Becka Jr.; daughters, Mary Ann Becka, Gail Becka McAdams, and Linda Becka Brown; grandchildren Cameron Lee, Reagan Brown, and Braedan Lee, all of Lumberton, TX; great-grandchildren, Atlas Lee and Zerelda Lee, of Springfield, MO; sisters, Mary Kaylor and Francis Watson; as well as her many nieces, nephews and numerous brothers and sisters-in law.

Preceding Lucrecia in death are her parents, Julian Juarez Sr. and Maria Juarez; brothers, Julian Juarez Jr., Victor Juarez, Robert Juarez and Frederico Juarez.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the amazing, compassionate staff at Harbor Hospice for their understanding and comfort during a difficult time.

To celebrate the life and legacy of Lucrecia, the family is planning to hold a Celebration of Life on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St, Lumberton, TX 77657.
