Louise Woodard

Louise Woodard, age 57, passed from this life on Friday, October 14, 2022. She was born March 24, 1965 in Dallas, TX to Micholas and Opal Louise Richardson Antelhere.

Diligent and responsibly dedicated, Louise was a servant at heart, tirelessly finding ways to help those in need; by her example, her children were taught to possess that same care for others.  She was never one to give up, or let life go by, always making sure that she made provision for herself and loved ones. If she had any time at all, she would find a way to spend it with her family, playing the never-ending “Woodard Family Yatzhe Championships, bowling with her beloved husband, Sherman, even achieving her greatest score after rolling a 259, and playing with the grandchildren whenever possible, for them playtime with “Nana” was something to look forward to. Louise was a Godly woman. Ever setting the example for her family, from her they learned many things: to stand for what they believed in; how to work hard and provide for their families; and leading by example on seeking a relationship with the Lord, always. She deeply cherished babies, proudly spending many years working in childcare in the baby room. Louise liked a little coffee with her vanilla cream and sugar, but just a splash, and though her sweetheart worked at a competitor, she was a Church’s Chicken fan through and through. Faith was important to her, and she possessed an insatiable curiosity of the Gospel, following her longtime friend, onetime youth pastor, and current pastor, Ray McNames. Her innate beauty, both within and without, shined brightly during her time on Earth, and the mark she made on the hearts of loved ones will remain, until the day appointed that she sees them again. Until that time, her memory and loving nature will be cherished.

Left to honor her memory is husband of 39 years, Sherman Woodard; son, Michael Ray Woodard of Lumberton, TX; daughter, Christina Drake and husband, Coty, of Kirbyville, TX; brothers, Mike “Jay” Here of Splendora, TX, Jimmy Fowler of Lumberton, TX, and Jay Fowler of Lumberton, TX; sister, Julianna Mitchell and husband, Wayne, of Splendora, TX; grandchildren, Levi Ray Drake, Lilly Thornton, Cayla Marie Woodard, Mason Lynn Drake, and Madilynn A’lise Drake; sisters-in-law, Connie Bayless and husband, Mike, and Shannon Sims and husband, Robby; longtime friends and employers, Steve and Kay Martinka; and a host of dear friends, extended family, and loved ones.

Preceding Louise in death are her parents; her guardians and adoptive parents, Gene & Pat Fowler; and brother, Joseph Ray Here.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Grace Church, 1130 Hwy 69, Kountze, TX 77625. Louise’s life honoring memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m., also at the funeral home, with Pastor Ray McNames officiating.
