Loretta Estell (Epley) Purkey

Loretta Estell Purkey, age 73 of Vidor, TX, passed away on Saturday, July 7th, 2018.  She was born to Roy and Tonna Epley on Tuesday, August 29th, 1944 in Baltimore, MD.

Loretta was such a loving and caring wife and homemaker, Mother and Granny.  Her children and grandbabies were her life.  She loved Jesus and was always thankful for Calvary.  She will certainly be missed by many.  Going to yard sales, walking the mall and especially spending time with her friends and family were her favorite things to do.

Left to honor her memory are her husband; William P. Purkey of Vidor; sons, William Purkey of Bossier City, LA, Dale Purkey and his wife, Chastadity of Buna; her daughter, Dawn Purkey and her partner Tiffany Newell  of Coolidge, AZ and Shawn Purkey and his wife Cynthia of Vidor, TX..

She was preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Tonna Epley, her son Jonathan Purkey and sisters Mary Upton and Nina Minerick and brother Robert Epley.

Serving as pallbearers are Chris Purkey, Dale Purkey, Shawn Purkey, Jody Purkey, Jordan Purkey, Jody Shepherd.

The family will receive friends and family from 5-7pm on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Vidor Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Vidor, TX. A life honoring funeral service will be held at 10am on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Vidor Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Vidor, TX. Burial services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, TX.
