Lesia Merle "Granny" (Allen) Jones

Mrs. Lesia Merle “Granny” (Allen) Jones, 65, of Kountze, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Lesia was born in Vidor, Texas on Wednesday, March 28, 1956, to Mr. Herman Brantley Allen and Mrs. Peggy (Sause) Allen and was one of their four daughters. Family was always important to Lesia, or as many knew her best- “Ma”. Married to the love of her life, John Michael Jones, and the mother to two children, Lesia was always the rock of her family. A loving mothers and even more devoted “Granny” to her three precious grandchildren, she loved to take time to enjoy the moment and spoil her babies whenever she could. From trips to Wal-Mart and the local feed store, to a day spent riding on the side-by-side to hunt treasures from the curb- Granny always knew how to keep everyone smiling. She loved to cook and work in the large garden that she kept each year; always going and doing something. Truly a selfless and kind woman, Lesia embraced life and encouraged those she loved around her to do the same. When not dotting on her beloved family, she loved to escape to the casinos and play the slot machines too! Her impact on those she loved best will not soon be forgotten and she will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, John Michael Jones of Kountze; her children: Brandy Williams and husband Channon of Kountze, and Jerry Jones of Vidor; her siblings: Alice Ladner of Buna, Shelia Smith and husband Mark of Lafayette, and Quan Birdwell and husband Dwight of Vidor; her grandchildren: Hayden Williams, Tessa Williams, and Adalia Jones; as well as many friends and loved ones through the years.

Lesia was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Brantley Allen and Peggy Sause Allen, and her brother-in-law, R. J. Ladner.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home (766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX 77657). Lesia's life honoring funeral service will be on Thursday, January 27, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, she will be laid to rest at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze immediately following the funeral services.
