Lance Butts Obituary

Lance Britton Butts, also known as 'Ole Son', joined his loving Father in Heaven on Friday, December 20, 2019. Lance was born May 8, 2000 in Beaumont, TX and spent his rambunctious life here running the roads with his family and friends.

Lance Butts was truly a remarkable individual. He was full of life and love from the day he was born. As a baby he would escape from his crib and climb into his twin brother, Logan’s crib, to sleep. Lance was always positive and brightened every room he entered with his permanent smile. He had a hug and an “I love you” for everyone. But when it came to his momma and his meme, for them he reserved laying across their laps and loving on them from there. He also had a soft spot in his heart for his nieces and nephews. Lance was as charming and delightful as a person could be with his flawlessly flipped hair, Sitka baseball cap, and bright personality. He was a clown and loved to antagonize! He took much pride in his six pack abs that were evidence of his active lifestyle. He was a fantastic baseball player, much attributed to his speed, which inspired his coach to nickname him “Turbo,” which was later put on his helmet. He was so fast he even caught a hummingbird! He was a true outdoorsman and an incredible fisherman and hunter. He lived by the motto, “go big or go home!” Lance almost always went big. There was no doubt that hunting was his passion and he couldn’t wait to share that passion with Kason. He longed for the day that he could take off into the outdoors and teach Kason everything he knew. Lance loved God’s creatures, but particularly loved them on his plate, right next to the mashed potatoes. He ate everything he killed, including squirrels and even chichi birds. Lance was small in stature but could sure eat his fair share and more! If he wasn’t eating something he had killed, he was likely “stealing” food out of his cousin Cortni’s fridge. Lance was never still for long and was likely doing something to live life on the edge, whether it be bull riding, riding motorcycles, tearing up something or outlawing. He was absolutely fearless. Lance’s life was a blessing and his memory and legacy will be treasured. God has called home a great son, wonderful friend, amazing brother, a passionate hunter, and far more.
