Mr. Kenneth “Kenny” Eugene Ferguson II, 39, of Vidor, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. Kenny was born on Friday, December 10, 1982, in Orange, Texas to Mr. Kenneth Eugene Ferguson Sr. and Mrs. Tamara “Tammy” Ann Moore. Kenny was the embodiment of a hardworking southern man who loved his family and the water above just about everything else. From even a young age, Kenny was drawn to the water like a fish to the river and even became recognized as a local hero of sorts for his constant water rescues out on the river by his house. Always ready to help others, Kenny had a large heart and made friends easily. The lovable younger “biggest” brother, he always had time for those that meant the most to him, but especially for his three children. Family was everything to Kenny and he was an amazing father. He could cook better than most women, his sisters included, and enjoyed spending time teaching others the finer points of fishing and frog gigging at any opportunity. His big smile and personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and he will not soon be forgotten.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Tammy Moore; his children: Perry Don Ferguson (17), Kenneth Eugene “Trey” Ferguson III (6), and Vanessa Rose Ferguson (5); his siblings: Scott Huelsman, Brandi Dyson and husband Troy, Steven Huelsman, Wendi Low and husband Shae, Koda Kelly, Johnny Ferguson, and Josh Ferguson and wife Stephanie; a host of wonderful nieces and nephews, numerous friends and loved ones, and even one great-nephew on the way.
Kenny is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Eugene Ferguson Sr.
To honor Kenny’s life and legacy, a time of visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home (766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX 77657) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Kenny will be laid to rest next to his father at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Warren, Texas at a graveside service on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
