Kenneth "Ken" Dale Henry

Mr. Kenneth "Ken" Dale Henry, 71, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Ken was born in Wellington, Texas on Wednesday, July 26, 1950.

Ken was a lucky man in many ways; for example, a simple movie date to see Star Wars led Ken to marrying his beloved wife Jane in September of 2004. He was also blessed with his beloved daughter Victoria, whom he loved deeply, who gave him the opportunity to be a father and grandfather. Ken was a kind and caring man who loved his family and especially loved to give hugs. He lived life to the fullest, rarely meeting a stranger and always willing to help others if he could. A lover of nature and the things that God created, Ken enjoyed his pets, the outdoors and of course feeding squirrels. A gentleman from a different era, Ken was always opening doors for others and generous almost to a fault.

Exceptionally hardworking, Ken was a dedicated employee of TDCJ for more than 20 years- beginning his career as a correctional officer before obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and moving into Risk Management for TDCJ until his retirement in 2009.

Ken’s legacy and impact on those around him will be deeply missed by all who knew him and he will not soon be forgotten.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jane Henry; his daughter, Victoria and husband Antonio Briones Jr.; and his grandson, Antonio Briones III.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents George and Juanita Henry, and his siblings.

A life honoring memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Parkway Life Church in Lumberton, Texas.
