Katherine Faye Long

Katherine Faye Long, age 67, of Kountze, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024. She was born in Beaumont, TX, on September 27, 1957, to John Breaux and Betty May.

Kathy lived her life with grace, charm, and a remarkable zest. She had a unique sense of style, always dressing in a way that highlighted her beauty, with her makeup and nails impeccably done, and was known for her phenomenal dancing. An excellent cook, Kathy delighted in preparing meals that brought joy to her loved ones. She cherished time spent at the casino with her family, sharing laughter and creating unforgettable memories. Kathy’s sass and straightforward nature endeared her to many, making her a beloved figure to those who knew her. Despite any challenges, Kathy had a magical way of making Christmas special for her family. Her unwavering determination and boundless love ensured that the holiday season was always filled with joy and wonder, and those memories will live on in all who loved her.

Left to honor her memory is her beloved husband, Jack Long Sr.; son, Jack Long Jr. and wife, Jeanie; daughters, Amanda Long, Paige Gilchriest, and Crystal Ortega and husband, Julio; mother, Betty Jones; grandchildren, Abel, Christian, Zane, Julien, Ayden, Julissa, Alyssa, Jeffery, Adeline, Jessica, Corey, Landon, and Amanda; her long haired Chihuahua, Yappy; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.

Preceding Kathy in death is her father, John Breaux; sisters, Becky Carr and Zelma Breaux; uncle, Jack May Jr.; and niece, Jana Boudreaux.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Kathy's life honoring memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home with Marvin Harrington officiating.
