Kacee Joe Begeman

Kacee Joe Begeman, 65, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. He was born on February 26, 1961, in Wyandotte, Michigan.

Kacee was married for 44 years to the love of his life, Karen Begeman. The two met as teenagers and built a beautiful life together. They were married for 10 years before welcoming their two children and eventually making the move to Texas. Kacee was a great hockey player growing up and spent much of his younger years traveling and playing competitive hockey. At a young age, he accepted a job opportunity with Exxon, a decision that would eventually lead him to Texas. He grew to love the warmer weather, though he always missed being close to family in Michigan. While raising his family, they made many trips back to Michigan to visit loved ones. Kacee dedicated 40 years to Exxon before retiring in 2018. Kacee loved watching sports and was always there supporting his children in all of their activities. He coached his kids through the years and loved being involved in their lives and sports.
Kacee loved bowling, golfing, poker, gambling, and frequent trips to the casinos in Louisiana. He loved pool days, grilling steaks and burgers, and cooking for family and friends. After cooking a good meal, he would often say, “If you go home hungry, it’s your own fault.” Kacee also had a great sense of humor and wit. He was known for his dad jokes, always making people laugh, and was often the first one to lighten the mood in any situation. He was truly the life of the party and could make friends anywhere he went.
Left to honor his memory is his wife, Karen Marie Begeman; son, Kerry Verne Begeman; daughter, Kaylee Joanne Bennett and husband, Bradley; brothers, Kevin Begeman and wife, Ann, Kelly Begeman, and Korey Begeman; grandchildren, Keeley Begeman, Ryan Begeman, Kynslee Bennett, Blakely Bennett, and Braxton Bennett; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
Preceding Kacee in death are his parents, Verne Begeman and Jacqueline Porath Begeman.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, May 8, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S Main St. Lumberton, TX 77657.
